(Port) Wine of the month November 2022: Douro Boys Vintage Port 2011

There are only 250 occasions where you can taste this Port and some are already gone, since it was bottled in only 250 Magnums and I have (co-)tasted at least six of them.. The Douro Boys excelled in this Port, which is the first they ever bottled (the first blend was 2005, but only claret). Some violet reflections in the almost inky-black colour. Fantastic concentration with an outstanding balance. Black and red berry fruit with tobacco in the back. Fine and ripe tannic structure, balanced Cassis- and cherry-notes, chocolate. Fantastically supporting acidity. One of the three best Vintage Ports of this outstanding year. 19/20
